LinkedIn reaches people through people
LinkedIn is a network built around professional connections. Readers are business partners, peers and job candidates, and what gets read is not weekend chatter but how you think about work and what you learn on the job. For B2B (company-to-company) businesses and companies focused on hiring, it is a place that reaches people other networks struggle to reach.
Another feature is that posts from the personal profile of an owner or staff member are read more than posts from a company page. A post written in the author's own words by someone with a face flows into their connections' feeds, and work conversations start from there. The profile SNS TOWN connects on LinkedIn is this personal profile.
What you can do with LinkedIn in SNS TOWN
When you pick a LinkedIn account in the header, the composer changes to the LinkedIn layout. Text can be 3,000 characters and images up to 9.
| What you can do | Details |
|---|---|
| Text | Up to 3,000 characters |
| Images | Up to 9 per post |
| Video | 1 video (cannot be mixed with images) |
| Link card | 1 URL in a post without images or video |
| Poll | A question with 2 to 4 choices (up to 30 characters each). Duration of 1, 3, 7 or 14 days |
| Audience | Everyone / Connections only |
| Image descriptions | Up to 200 characters per image (ALT text) |
| Delete | You can delete published posts from SNS TOWN |
| Threads and simultaneous posting | Not available |
The LinkedIn posting API works by posting to a profile the owner has authorized. The official explanation is in the Share on LinkedIn documentation, which also describes choosing the audience between "everyone" and "first-degree connections only" and the API limit of 150 posts per member per day. Differences in composers are explained with photos in How composers differ by network.
What is not possible (as of October 2026)
LinkedIn reviews and opens its API features company by company. What SNS TOWN can use now is the scope of "posting to a personal profile," which works without an application. For that reason, the following are not supported.
| Not supported | Reason |
|---|---|
| Posting to company pages | Requires review for a separate LinkedIn API |
| Reading likes, comment counts and so on | Permission to read posts is only available to LinkedIn partners |
| Auto replies | Same reason; replies can't be read |
Please check engagement numbers in the LinkedIn app. SNS TOWN's Analytics screen shows that LinkedIn is not counted.
Reconnect every 60 days
A LinkedIn connection has an expiry and expires 60 days after you authorize it. A mechanism that extends it automatically, as for X and Threads, is open only to LinkedIn partners. So SNS TOWN changes the color on the social accounts screen from 14 days before expiry, and also notifies you from 7 days before.
To reconnect, just press "Connect" on the social accounts screen and authorize on LinkedIn's screen. Your scheduled posts and settings stay as they are. A post whose time arrives after the connection has expired does not go out and is held, so reconnect early once the notice arrives. The steps are in Refresh, disconnect and reorder.
Scheduling and approval
LinkedIn posts can also use scheduled posts for a set date and time, drafts, and approval before publishing. If you create a post cycle, AI prepares drafts to match the days and times you set. The check right before publishing stops text over 3,000 characters and posts that come less than 1 hour after the neighboring post.
Because the tone on LinkedIn differs from other networks, we have not added a feature to publish it as a pair with X or Threads. When you want to post the same topic on LinkedIn, we recommend duplicating the published post as a draft for your LinkedIn account and rewriting it for your work contacts before posting.
Tips for running LinkedIn
What gets read on LinkedIn is a lesson drawn from your own experience. A specific event paired with what you thought about it is what gets read. Pairing a concrete event with your reflection, such as "what happened on site this month" or "what a customer's question taught us," catches the eye of people doing the same work. Lines that are only promotion are easily skipped by your connections.
Polls suit asking work contacts for their opinions. Setting the duration to about a week and writing your next post based on the result makes your posts connect to each other. Getting started and setting up your profile are covered in LinkedIn basics, and how B2B companies can use it in Social media for manufacturing and B2B.
Frequently asked questions
Can I post to a company page?
Not as of October 2026. Posting to company pages requires review for a separate LinkedIn API. For now, posting to the personal profile of an owner or staff member is supported.
Do scheduled posts disappear after 60 days?
No. While the connection is expired, posts do not go out when their time arrives and stay held, and you can publish them again after reconnecting. You are notified on the screen from 14 days before expiry and by notification from 7 days before.
Can I see like and comment counts?
No. Permission to read engagement on posts is only given to LinkedIn partners. Please check the numbers in the LinkedIn app.
How do I choose the audience?
In the composer, choose "Everyone" or "Connections only." If you choose nothing, the post goes out to everyone.
