When you can't see the plan, posts become lopsided
What trips up social media managers is not writing but arranging. Three campaign announcements in a row in the same week, nothing posted on weekends, or an unapproved draft whose time has already passed. You don't notice this kind of imbalance when looking at posts one at a time.
You can make a posting plan in spreadsheet software, but the trouble is that the real schedule and the plan drift apart. SNS TOWN's calendar lays out the scheduled posts and drafts themselves, so it can't drift apart. The thinking behind building a plan is explained in How to Build a Content Calendar.
Three ways to view it
At the top of the posts screen, switch between "Week", "Month" and "List". "Today" brings you back to today, and the arrows move to the previous or next week or month.
Week view
Week view is the default. Time runs down the side and days of the week run across, like a timetable, and each post appears as a tag at the position of its publish time. The current day's column has a red line marking the current time, and the screen scrolls near it automatically when you open it. When posts overlap in the same time slot, they sit side by side so they don't overlap.
Click an empty time slot and the post creation screen opens with that time filled in. Clicking a time that has passed does nothing.
Month view
In month view, posts line up in a box for each day. When a day has 5 or more posts, 4 are shown, and the rest can be seen by clicking "{n} more" to go to the week view. It suits seeing the density of the whole month and which days are empty.
List view
The list shows posts in a table, newest first. You can filter by status: Awaiting approval, Scheduled, Posted, failed, Skipped, Missed and so on. For companies that use post tags, you can filter by tag too. It suits uses like "show me everything awaiting approval" or "check last month's failures".
Colors show the status
Calendar tags change color by status. A legend appears at the bottom of the screen.
| Color | Status |
|---|---|
| Navy | Published post |
| Green | Scheduled |
| Yellow | Awaiting approval |
| Gray | Queued, Skipped, Missed |
| Red | Failed, or stopped for lack of credits |
| Dashed light gray | Post cycle plan |
A red tag is a post that won't go out unless you do something. Click the tag to open the post, and you'll see why it's stopped and a button to send it again.
Post cycle plans appear too
If you have a post cycle, upcoming slots that don't have a draft yet also appear as pale gray dashed tags labeled "[Post cycle] name". When the draft is ready, the tag is replaced by the actual post. You can compare hand-scheduled posts and automatically created plans on the same screen, so you notice if two posts would go out at the same time. Clicking a dashed tag opens that post cycle's settings.
Grab and drag to change a time
In the week and month views, you can grab a Scheduled or Awaiting approval post with the mouse and drag it to another time or day. In week view, times snap to 15-minute steps, and in month view only the day changes and the time stays the same. When you let go, it saves on the spot and the bottom of the screen says it was moved to the new time. For a thread, dragging the first post moves the later ones by the same amount.
After moving, the pre-publish check runs again at the new time, and if an approved post would fail the check, it goes back to Awaiting approval and you are told. For example, placing it less than an hour away from the posts before and after it on the same account fails the check and returns it to Awaiting approval.
Some posts can't be grabbed and moved. These are posts already published or being published, posts whose publish time has passed, the second and later posts in a thread, and posts created by a post cycle. Post cycle posts are not moved because the original time would look free, and another draft could be created in the same slot. To change the time of these, open the post and edit it. Dragging with a finger isn't supported, so on a smartphone, open the post and change the time there.

Narrow down which accounts to view
If you choose a social account in the header, the calendar shows only that account's posts and post cycles. If you choose "All accounts", everything connected to the company or brand appears. Even at a company where different people post to X and Instagram, each can see and work on just their own.
Above the week view, the time with the best engagement from your past posts is also shown. It helps when you can't decide where to place a new post. For details, see Best Posting Time.

Frequently asked questions
Do published posts stay on the calendar?
Yes. They appear as navy tags at their publish time, and clicking one opens the post's page. Posts deleted from the network can also be found in the list under statuses such as "Deleted from X".
Why can't I drag a post cycle's post on the calendar?
If you free up a post cycle slot's time, the system creates a new draft at that time. To change the time, open the post and edit it, or change the time in the post cycle's settings.
Can I use the calendar on a smartphone?
You can view it and click tags to open posts. Grabbing and dragging with a finger isn't supported, so open the post to change its time.
How do I see only the drafts awaiting approval?
Switch to the list view and click the "Awaiting approval" status. You can also open it from the "Awaiting approval" panel on Home.
When I have several companies or brands, can I see them all in one calendar?
The calendar is per company or brand. Switch between companies and brands in the header to view each.
