Bring a Model Account's Writing Style into AI Drafts with Reference Accounts

Write like that account" is hard to explain in words. SNS TOWN's reference accounts read the posts of an X account you want to learn from, and the AI puts the pattern, such as opening, length, line breaks and sentence endings, into words. That pattern goes into AI drafts, and the text itself is never copied.

It's hard to tell AI "something like this"

When you have AI write drafts, the content may be right and yet you feel "that's not our tone." The first line is too long, there are too few line breaks to read comfortably, the sentence endings are stiff. You know what you want to fix, but spelling it out each time is a chore.

Meanwhile, many people in charge have a model account they admire: a similar shop in a different region, or a company speaking to the same kind of customers. Reference accounts let AI read that model and extract its good points as a pattern.

Copying someone else's posts word for word is out of the question, though. It can raise copyright issues, and similar posts tend to be rated lower on X as well. So at SNS TOWN, only the "pattern" is given to AI, and the pre-post check verifies that no text was copied.

What you can do

Register an X account

On the Reference accounts screen, enter the X account you want to learn from, either as a username starting with @ or as a profile URL. You can also write up to 200 characters about "what to learn from it." For example, "how the first line and line breaks are used" or "how photos are described" makes the AI focus on those points.

Reading uses the permission of the X account your company has connected, so you need to connect an X account first. Locked (protected) accounts can't be read.

AI summarizes the writing pattern

When you register, we read that account's posts from the last 30 days and the AI summarizes the writing style in 400 characters or fewer. The summary covers post length, how posts open, habits with line breaks and emoji, sentence endings, the range of topics, and what the most-reacted posts have in common. The AI is instructed not to quote the actual wording. If the account has fewer than 3 posts in the last 30 days, no summary is made and the screen says so.

Among the posts read, the 3 with the most likes and reposts can be opened on screen. You can see for yourself which posts draw reactions, and comparing them with the summary makes it easier to be convinced.

Edit the summary and decide whether to use it

You can edit the summary of the writing style right on screen. Delete or add parts that don't fit your company, such as "one emoji per post at most." Uncheck "Use in drafts" and the account stays registered but isn't used for drafts, which is handy when you want to rest a model for a while.

Re-read only new posts

Registered accounts are re-read automatically at set intervals. From the second time, only posts newer than last time are read, and the summary is redone only when there are new posts. When you want it applied right away, press "Re-read now." The re-read interval and the number you can register depend on your plan.

Checking that nothing is copied, before you post

For companies with reference accounts, AI drafts go through a copy check in addition to the usual pre-post check. If the draft body contains 12 or more characters in a row that are identical to a reference account's post, it is stopped with the reason "This contains the same wording. Please put it in your own words, don't copy." Spaces and line breaks are ignored in the comparison, so text with only the line breaks changed is caught too.

A draft caught by the check is rewritten once by the AI. If it still isn't fixed, it is placed under Awaiting approval for a person to decide. Borrowing a pattern and borrowing sentences are kept apart by the system.

How to use it

  1. On the Reference accounts screen, enter the X username and what to learn from it, and press "Add."
  2. In about a minute, the posts are read and a summary of the writing style appears.
  3. Read the summary, fix the parts that don't fit and save.
  4. From then on, the pattern is used in post cycle drafts.

The steps for each screen are explained with screenshots in the guide Adding a Reference Account.

Combining with other features

Reference accounts decide "how to write," while "what to write" is decided by the Company Profile and Key Messages. If the "tone" in your company profile and the reference account summary disagree, drafts tend to waver. It stays steady if you split the work: set the broad tone in the company profile, and use reference accounts to add fine patterns such as openings and line breaks.

The pattern is passed to the AI-written drafts for each slot of a post cycle. If, when approving a draft, you feel it is "too close to the model," shorten the summary or uncheck the account and see how it goes.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use accounts on networks other than X as models?

For now, only X accounts. Reading uses X's official API, so Instagram and Threads accounts can't be registered.

Does the model account find out I registered it?

No. We only read public posts through X's official API, and take no actions such as following or notifying.

Can text from a reference account end up in a draft as is?

Only the summarized pattern is given to the AI, not the post text. In addition, a draft that has 12 or more consecutive identical characters with a reference account's post is stopped by the check and rewritten.

How many can I register?

Up to 3 on Team, 5 on Professional and 10 on Enterprise. Personal can't register any. You can see the differences between plans on the pricing page.

Can I rewrite the summarized style myself?

Yes. You can edit and save the summary freely. Note that it is overwritten when new posts are read and the summary is redone, so for rules you want to keep, also write them in the "tone" of your company profile.

Does it work for an account that posts rarely?

If there are fewer than 3 posts in the last 30 days, no summary is made. The registration stays, and when posts increase, the next re-read creates the summary.
