What goes wrong when you schedule one by one
Companies that plan their posts at the start of each month often line up topics and dates in a spreadsheet, show it to a boss or store manager, and then enter the posts. Copying that sheet into the scheduling screen one post at a time can take almost an hour for 30 posts. The more posts there are, the easier it is to shift a date by one day while copying, or to enter the same text twice.
The other problem is a failure partway through. If it stops at post 20, it takes effort to check on screen which ones went in and which didn't. CSV bulk scheduling is a feature to reduce both of these problems together.
The shape of the CSV
The CSV you import has only 3 columns. Column 1 is the date and time to post (Japan time), column 2 is the post text, and column 3 is tags. Tags are optional, and you can add several separated by commas.
| Column | Contents | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Column 1 | Date and time to post (Japan time) | 2026-11-03 12:00 |
| Column 2 | Post text | Here's a new announcement. |
| Column 3 | Tags (optional) | new product, autumn |
Besides "2026-11-03 12:00", a format like "2026/11/3 9:05" can also be read. If the first row is a header row, it is skipped automatically. To put a line break inside the post text, wrap the text in double quotation marks and the break is kept as a line break. The safest way is to download the "Sample CSV" on the screen, which gives you a file in exactly this shape, open it in your spreadsheet software and add your rows.
When you save from spreadsheet software, set the character encoding to UTF-8. In Excel, choose "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited)". Saving in another encoding can garble the text.
Fixed limits
You can import up to 350 rows at a time, and the file can be up to 2 MB. The date and time must be at least 10 minutes after the moment you import. If you enter a time too close, the post could go out before you have had a chance to check it.
All rows are checked first, and if any fails, nothing goes in
When you import, SNS TOWN checks every row before scheduling anything. It checks that the date and time can be read, that it is at least 10 minutes ahead, that the text isn't empty, and that it passes that network's pre-publish check. The checks are the same as the pre-publish check, looking at things like the character limit and the spacing between posts.
If even one row needs fixing, not a single post is added. Instead you get a table listing the row number, date and time, the start of the text and the reason it was stopped. Fix the CSV and import it again to start over. We avoid ever leaving things half-imported so that nobody has to work out how far it got.
Items that only call for caution, such as URLs in the text or the number of hashtags, which tend to be disadvantages in X's recommendations, don't stop the import and appear as cautions in the results. CSV rows are treated as posts written by a person, so decisions on style are left to the writer.
Schedule them, or hold them as drafts
The import screen has a checkbox, "Approve and schedule rows that pass the checks". It starts out ticked.
| Checkbox | State after import | Good for companies that |
|---|---|---|
| Ticked (starting state) | They become Scheduled and go out at the set time | Have already had the sheet approved internally |
| Cleared | They become drafts and go out after passing through the approval flow | Want another person to read the text before it goes out |
If the sheet has already been approved internally, scheduling is the faster way. For companies where the sheet is made by one person and another reads the text before it goes out, importing as drafts and waiting for approval fits better. The plan allowance is counted the same way as for posts scheduled from the screen. Details are on the pricing page.
After importing, check on the calendar and list
When the import finishes, the posts list opens. The number imported and the number scheduled appear at the top. Imported posts also line up in the week and month views of the calendar, so you can see by eye whether dates are bunched up or posts overlap at the same time. To change a time, drag the post on the calendar.
If you add tags in column 3, you can filter the list by tag. Tagging groups such as "Autumn campaign" or "New product" makes it easier to review just that group later.
Export your posts to CSV
You can also export in the other direction. From "..." on the posts screen, click "Export to CSV" and download up to 5,000 of the company or brand's posts, newest first, as a CSV. It is written in a form that doesn't garble when opened in Excel.
The columns exported are post number, network, account, post time (Japan time), status, how it was made, text, the post ID on the network, post URL, internal note and tags. You can use it to list the posts published at the end of the month for a report, or as a base for next month's plan. Because internal notes are included, the back-and-forth from approval is kept with them. How to build a monthly report is summarized in How to Build a Monthly Social Media Report.

Frequently asked questions
How many can I import at once?
Up to 350 rows at a time. If you have more, split the file and import them separately. The file can be up to 2 MB.
If one row is wrong, are the other rows not added either?
Right, none are added. A table tells you which row to fix and how, so fix the CSV and import again. Never leaving things half-imported prevents accidents like scheduling duplicates.
Can I import to several accounts at once?
You can choose one account per import. Split the CSV by account and import each one.
Can I add posts with images in bulk too?
A CSV brings in only text and tags. Open each post after importing and add the images. For networks that require an image or video, text alone won't pass the check.
The text in a CSV I made in Excel is garbled
The encoding may not be UTF-8. Save again, choosing "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited)" in Excel.
Can I import an exported CSV back in as it is?
The export has many columns, so it can't be imported as it is. Arrange it into date and time in column 1, text in column 2 and tags in column 3 before importing.
