Are you rewriting the same text a little differently every time?
Every time you post your opening hours, you hunt for an old post and copy it. One person writes "Please book by phone" and another writes "Reservations are taken by phone." The way you write your days off changes from month to month. These are small things, but such differences leave customers unsure, and the time spent searching adds up with every post.
The surest way to cut the variation is to decide as a company, "this information is always written this way," and keep that text where anyone can grab it. Templates in SNS TOWN are that place. How to write the operating rules themselves is covered in how to write social media guidelines.
Shared by members, kept per company or brand
Templates belong to a company or brand. Everyone in the same company uses the same list, and when one person fixes a template, everyone gets the new text. If you manage several companies or brands, each keeps its own templates, so one shop's opening hours never end up in another shop's post.
Here is how much you can save and what each role can do.
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Number of templates | Up to 200 per company or brand |
| Name | Up to 60 characters |
| Body | Up to 5,000 characters |
| Order (in the composer's picker) | Most used first |
| Viewers | View only (cannot add, edit or delete) |
The name is the label you scan for in the list, so names that tell you what is inside, such as "Opening hours notice" or "Reservations (phone)", are easier to pick.
Manage them on the Templates page
You add, edit and delete templates on the Templates page, under "Material" in the sidebar. Enter a name and body under "Add a template" at the bottom of the page and save, and it joins the list above. Each row in the list can be edited in place and saved, and you can delete text you no longer need.
Each row also has "Create a post from this". Press it and the composer opens with the text already filled in. It is the quick route when a template is almost a whole post by itself, such as a monthly notice about days off.
Members whose role is Viewer can see the list but cannot add, edit or delete. Who can touch what is explained on the members and roles page.
Insert at the cursor in the composer
In the composer, there is an "Insert a template" picker above the body. When you choose one, the template goes in at the current cursor position. It does not jump to the top of the body, so you can write a seasonal greeting yourself and then insert your opening hours below it.
The picker is sorted by how often each template is used. The count goes up every time you insert one, so a template you use every week naturally rises to the top. "Manage templates" next to the picker takes you straight to the Templates page.
Inserted text can be edited like any other text. If only a date or product name changes, put a marker such as "(month) (day)" in the template and replace it after inserting, so nothing gets missed.
Treated as a post you wrote yourself
A post made with a template is treated as a post written by a person. In the X pre-post check, a template that contains a URL or an @mention only shows a notice. What stops a post is something that would simply fail if sent, such as going over the character limit. Templates with a reservation phone number or a link to your contact page work as they are.
If you repeat posts made only of the same template at short intervals, you will get a notice that the post is too similar to earlier ones. Use templates for the information part, and write the first one or two sentences fresh each time. That also makes each post look new to the people reading it.
Using it with other features
Templates are a place for text. Photos and files go in the Library. Library files also feed the AI's drafts, so if you put facts such as opening hours and how to book into your company profile or Library too, the AI drafts can follow the same wording.
The steps are also in the how-to guide: Create a post.
Frequently asked questions
How many templates can I save?
Up to 200 per company or brand. A name can be up to 60 characters and a body up to 5,000 characters.
Can I use another brand's templates?
No. Templates are kept separately for each company or brand. If you want the same text in another brand, save it there too.
Do templates cost credits?
No. Saving and inserting are free. How credits are used when you publish a post is covered on the pricing page.
Can I put emoji and line breaks in a template?
Yes. Line breaks and emoji go into the body as they are when you insert it. The character count is taken from the body after insertion.
Does the AI draft use templates?
No. Templates are for inserting when a person writes a post. If you want an AI draft to state the same facts, put opening hours and booking details into your company profile or Library files. If you want to add a template to an AI draft, open the draft and add it with "Insert a template".
If I change a template, do scheduled posts change too?
No. The text is copied into the post at the moment you insert it, so fixing a template later does not change posts already created or scheduled. When your opening hours change, open your scheduled posts and check them.
Can I change the order in the picker?
The picker is sorted by most used, so you cannot reorder it by hand. To make templates easier to find, start the name with a category such as "[In store]".
